A Jetstar flight was forced to make an unexpected landing midway through its journey due to an electrical problem.
The Airbus A321-200 was flying from Cairns, Queensland, to Melbourne when the plane experienced electrical problems on Wednesday.
The Jetstar flight landed safely in Sydney about 45 minutes later.
Passengers on the flight were given a replacement Airbus A321-200 but arrived in Melbourne more than eight hours late.
The plane that had to be diverted returned to carrying passengers five and a half hours after landing in Sydney.
It is understood that the aircraft suffered an ‘ELEC AC BUS 2’.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Jetstar for comment.
