A handful of teams reportedly have interest in Giants left-hander Blake Snell ahead of the July 30 MLB trade deadline.

One of them resides in the National League West.

The New York Yankees, San Diego Padres and Chicago Cubs are among six teams that have inquired with San Francisco about Snell’s availability to be traded, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported Sunday.

The Baltimore Orioles have also checked into Snell’s availability, Heyman said Monday.

Snell has settled into his rhythm since returning July 9 from his second stint on the injured list. The two-time NL Cy Young Award winner showed his form Saturday by striking out a career-high 15 batters in the series. The Giants beat the Colorado Rockies 4-1 at Oracle Park.

Snell was asked after the game about Hearing his name in trade rumorsand gave an objective answer.

“We just have to win,” Snell said of the rumors. “We won, I’m not going anywhere. At least I think I am. I don’t really know, I’ve seen some crazy things happen.”

As Heyman notes, the Giants are unlikely to trade Snell to San Diego, a division rival that is four games ahead of San Francisco for the second of the NL’s three wild-card spots.

If the Padres do come up with a compelling offer, though, should president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi and company consider it?
