Former President Donald Trump has said he believes President Joe Biden should remain in the race for the White House.

Donald Trump has shared his surprising take on what he thinks President Joe Biden should do following his disastrous performance in last week’s debate.

The former president, 78, wrote on his website Truth Social on Saturday that he believes his 81-year-old competitor should not listen to the many Democrats who want him to retire and should instead stay in the race for the White House.

‘Corrupt Joe Biden should ignore his many critics and move forward with alacrity and force with his powerful and momentous campaign.’ Trump wrote.

“He must be sharp, precise and energetic as he was in El Debate, when selling his policies…”, the former president continued sarcastically.

He then listed what he considered to be Biden’s policies, including ‘Open Borders (where millions of people, including (a) record number of terrorists can enter our country, from prisons and mental institutions, totally unchecked and unvetted!), End of Social Security, Men playing in women’s sports, High Taxes, High Interest Rates, encouraging a woke military, Uncontrollable Inflation, Record Crime, Only Electric Vehicles, Submission to China and other countries, Endless Wars, Putting America Last, Losing our Dollar-Based Standard, and much more.’

“Yes, Sleepy Joe should continue his campaign of destroying America and MAKE CHINA GREAT AGAIN,” Trump concluded.

Biden has faced calls from fellow Democrats to drop out of the presidential race since his dismal performance in the CNN debate on June 27, with even the New York Times and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution publishing op-eds to that effect.

There has also been a movement in the Senate, led by Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, for Democrats in the upper chamber to push to oust Biden in favor of a younger candidate.

But Biden has remained persistent, saying in an impassioned speech in Madison, Wisconsin, on Friday: “I’m still in the race.”

Biden, 81, has faced calls from members of his own party to drop out of the race since his dismal performance in the CNN debate on June 27.

Democrats are also pushing to oust the president as their party's nominee.

In an apparent effort to persuade the nation that he still has the mental acuity to lead it, the president sat down with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos for a one-on-one interview.

When asked by Stephanopoulos about his debate performance, Biden blamed “exhaustion” and being “sick,” even claiming he had to take a COVID test before the debate.

“The whole preparation process was nobody’s fault, it was my fault. The fault is nobody’s but mine,” the president said, before launching into a confusing explanation.

“I prepared what I would normally do, when I would go back to foreign leaders or the National Security Council to get explicit details. And I realized, halfway through, you know, that everyone… I was quoted in the New York Times as having given me ten points before the debate, nine now, or whatever.

“The fact is, from what I saw, he lied 28 times, too,” he said of Trump.

“I couldn’t, I mean, the way the debate went, it wasn’t my fault, it wasn’t anybody else’s fault, it wasn’t anybody else’s fault,” he continued.

But his performance in the interview once again failed to convince even those in his own party that he has the mental strength to last four more years.

Words like “heartbroken,” “doomed” and “damn mess” were used by more than half a dozen congressional Democrats. According to NBC.

Minnesota Rep. Angie Craig, who is fighting for her seat in the swing state, was so unconvinced that she became the latest elected Democrat to call for Biden to withdraw.

“There’s only a small window left to make sure we have the candidate best prepared to make his case and win,” Craig told the Washington Post.

‘Given what I saw and heard from the President during last week’s debate in Atlanta, coupled with the lack of a strong response from the President himself after that debate, I do not believe the President can effectively campaign and win against Donald Trump.’

Craig is now the fifth sitting Democrat to call for Biden’s recall, while 13 other members of Congress and governors have expressed concern, according to a tally by the outlet.

A Democratic lawmaker who previously endorsed Biden also told NBC that they will break their silence on Biden’s fate “soon.”

“I was saddened,” they said of Biden’s interview. “Totally out of touch with reality and cut off from the truth.”

But First Lady Jill Biden is said to be attacking those Democrats.

She is believed to be the driving force behind Biden’s insistence on staying in the race, and made a call to Vogue magazine insisting he will continue to fight for the White House.

“We will not let those 90 minutes define Joe’s four years as president. We will continue to fight,” Jill, 73, told the magazine in an interview to be published later this week.

One source even claimed that the First Lady “has the ultimate influence” over her husband.

‘If she decides there needs to be a change of course, there will be a change of course.

“The decision-makers are two people: the president and his wife,” the source added.

“Anyone who doesn’t understand how deeply personal and familial this decision will be is not informed about the situation.”

Biden’s top advisers have also reportedly told their staff to hold firm in meetings, relaying the mission statement: “We will weather the storm, just like we always have.”
