This is the excruciating moment an expectant father accidentally ruined his and his wife’s gender reveal.
Simon and Bronagh Laverty, from Craigavon, Northern Ireland, were preparing to host family and friends to share whether they were having a boy or a girl.
But an unfortunate mishap occurred when Simon was trying to carry a balloon, filled with pink or blue confetti, to the car.
The unfortunate dad-to-be accidentally popped the balloon, releasing a blue shower of confetti and ruining the surprise in a hilarious mistake.
The footage, captured by a video doorbell, shows small pieces of blue paper exploding on the porch, as Simon screams ‘oh, fuck’.

Bronagh also found out about what happened because of a motion detector alert on her phone.
Having witnessed the accident in real time, she immediately called him and said: ‘What just happened? Did we literally just find out what we’re going to take?’
After getting over the shock of discovering they were having a boy, Simon and Bronagh were relieved to have discovered sex together.
With the cat out of the bag, the couple still had to fake their surprise while hosting a gender reveal party.
“To be honest, we had to play along with the whole thing,” Simon said.
“We had to make sure no one else knew we’d already figured it out because we didn’t want to ruin the surprise for everyone else.”
The couple, whose son Theo will turn three in November, said they now treasure the images.
Simon Laverty, from Craigavon, Northern Ireland, accidentally popped the gender reveal balloon on the way to the car, revealing a cloud of blue confetti.
Luckily, Bronagh, Simon’s partner, received a motion sensor alert and was able to see the accidental gender reveal at the same time as him.
Simon shouted ‘oh fuck’ as he bent down to pick up the pieces of confetti.
Simon added: ‘We watch the video all the time. It makes us laugh about what happened and how we found out.
‘Capturing it on camera was even more special than doing it in front of friends and family as we get to keep it and cherish it.
“It’ll be good for the little one when he’s older to show it to you and say ‘this is how we found out what you were going to be!’
The couple were inspired to share their images after watching funny Ring Doorbell moments on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
Gender reveals often end in upset, if the result is revealed at the wrong time or sometimes if the parents are unhappy.
Earlier this year, Nicole Smith of Delaware was left in tears when she discovered she was having a third child, after years of dreaming about having a mini-me daughter.
