- Mother and son die in house fire in south Brisbane
A mother and her disabled son tragically died in a house fire.
Emergency services found the two-storey house in Woodridge, south of Brisbane, completely ablaze when they arrived shortly after 6pm on Sunday.
A woman in her 80s and a disabled man in his 60s, believed to be her son, were found inside and pronounced dead at the scene.
Acting Queensland Police Inspector Mark Procter said detectives were investigating the cause of the fire.
Police do not consider the fire suspicious.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said the fire was brought under control by three crews at around 6.30pm.
“Three teams arrived at the scene at 6:15 p.m.,” he said.
‘The fire was under control at 6:30 p.m. The house was very involved.
