A 22-year-old woman was taken off life support by her family after she suffered serious injuries after being thrown from her boyfriend’s car.
Zahriya Moreno and her boyfriend, Angelito Adrian Olivas, 25, had been in an argument early Monday morning and at some point, Moreno jumped on the trunk of her vehicle as she tried to leave the area, according to a criminal complaint. obtained by KOLD.
Olivas, who had been dating Moreno for a year and a half, allegedly knew Moreno was in the trunk and continued driving anyway.
At some point, she fell and Olivas found her unconscious.
He then took her to the Drexel Heights Fire Department in Tucson, Arizona and she was taken to a local hospital.

Her father, Robert, said he woke up Wednesday knowing Zahriya was going to be taken off life support.
But she didn’t expect more than 100 people to show up at Banner-University Medical Center for her Walk of Honor since she donated her organs.
“The outpouring of support is something I wouldn’t have imagined in a million years,” he said.
“I thought it would just be family and friends.”
She added that it is “wonderful to know that parts of my baby will live on, but there are no words or anything that can make this better.”
More than 100 people showed up at Banner-University Medical Center for her honor walk.
Robert said he woke up Wednesday knowing Zahriya was going to be taken off life support.
He said he did not expect so many people to show up for Zahriya’s Walk of Honor.
He noted that they had previously lost Zahriya’s twin brother, Izac, who died in a motorcycle accident in 2021, which Robert said had affected him.
“Mom used to hear her cry a lot alone in her room because she didn’t want others to see her weak, and we trusted in her strength; I hope we can now compensate her in some way,” she said.
“Because since we lost our twins, there will be a lot of darkness in the future and we will get through it no matter how difficult it is, because that is what our daughter would have wanted for us.”
Zahriya’s grandparents also said they now find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her twin brother.
Olivas has been arrested on charges of felony domestic violence, aggravated assault and endangering others.

Meanwhile, Olivas has been arrested on charges of felony domestic violence, aggravated assault and endangering others.
He was released later that day after posting $2,500 bail, angering Robert.
“It almost seemed like a joke,” he said.
“I am disappointed in the judge and the judicial system.”
