From a pint in the pub on a cold December afternoon to a bottle of beer in the park in summer, Brits are sure to enjoy a beer all year round.

But many don’t drink their drink correctly, which could ruin its taste.

According to Grace Daley, Senior Brand Manager at Cruzcampo in the UK, many drink beer too quickly, from the wrong glass and even store it incorrectly.

Speaking exclusively to FEMAIL, Grace explained that beer shouldn’t always be served in a pint.

“Beer drinking culture varies from country to country, and in Britain, beer and pints go hand in hand,” he explained.

Cruzcampo, which was first brewed in Seville in 1904 and launched in the UK last year, to the delight of many beer drinkers, is often served in a special chalice.

“This ensures that the beer stays cold if you hold the stem, and the glass also ensures that the bubbles stay alive until the last sip,” he said.

Drink your beer slowly and use all your senses.

“We should drink beer more slowly to savor the flavor instead of drinking pints,” Grace explained.

‘Enjoying beer uses all your senses.

‘From the sound of the beer being poured or the bottle being opened, to the gorgeous golden color and aroma, it’s best to take a little sniff and then shake the beer and inhale more deeply to smell the hop aromas.

“And the best: the flavor,” he added.

“To sound like a real expert, take a sip and let the flavor slide across your tongue from front to back.”

Never store it in the freezer or in direct sunlight.

While some people enjoy an ice-cold drink, beer should never be stored in the freezer.

“A lot of pubs put their glasses in the freezer to make sure the beer stays cold to the last drop,” Grace said.

Keep it out of the sun

If you’re having a barbecue, you’ll probably bring a case of beers on a tray with ice so guests can have a drink.

But it’s best not to store beer in direct sunlight, as it can be deadly to a pint.

Pair it with food, like with wine.

“Beer can be paired with food just as much as wine,” Grace explained.

‘There are three fundamental principles: contrast, complement and traverse. Cruzcampo has been brewed to be shared, our light-bodied beer is perfect to accompany salty food (although it is just as refreshing on its own).

While wine is traditionally what appears on tasting menus, beer can also be paired with food.

‘To truly embrace the Spanish lifestyle, we suggest enjoying Cruzcampo with tapas – Iberian ham, manchego, freshly baked bread and garlic squid – the crisp, malty and slightly sweet flavour, with a hint of bitterness, cuts through a rich and full taste’ Flavored tapas,” Grace explained.

‘Cruzcampo has arrived in the UK to help Brits enjoy the authentic Sevillian lifestyle and relaxed spontaneity.

“It gives us the opportunity to choose to relax and enjoy the moment with friends over a refreshing pint.”

Although every pint of beer should be savored and enjoyed. Since our brewmasters put so much care and attention into it, it is only right that the flavor be savored.”
