An 18-year-old woman was shot and killed outside a Delaware State University dormitory in the early hours of Sunday.
The Dover Police Department was called to campus shortly after 1:40 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired in the Warren-Franklin Hall area.
They found the victim, a Wilmington woman who has not yet been identified, with a gunshot wound to the upper body and rushed her to Bayhealth Medical Center, but she died.
The victim was not a student enrolled at the university and no other injuries were reported.
Delaware State University said: ‘The Police Department and DSU staff will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure the health and well-being of our university community.
