V8 Supercars star James Courtney has revealed a striking new career path after more than 20 years behind the wheel.
The 44-year-old Australian motor racing driver has announced he will be selling homes on the Gold Coast after joining McGrath real estate agents.
Speaking to 9News, Courtney revealed she’s “always had a keen interest in real estate.”
“Real estate is actually my first real job, I guess, because racing has been my whole life up until now,” he explained.
Despite the change of career, the racing star admitted he is not retiring from motorsport just yet.
Courtney will finish out his contract with the Blanchard Racing Team after the 2025 season before pursuing his real estate career full-time.
“I’m nearing the end of the racing phase of my life and I saw this as a natural progression,” he added.
“I’ll finish this year and continue next year and then it will be my turn full-time. I’ve had a very successful career. I’ve had a great time doing all of that and I want to finish it on my own terms.”

The move could allow James to spend more time away from the race track and with his wife Tegan and newborn son, Kobe.
James and Tegan eloped in September 2022 and welcomed their first child together in October 2023.
The newlyweds admit that even their closest friends had no idea they secretly tied the knot until they announced their marriage on Instagram.
They exchanged vows in front of just a handful of people, including Tegan’s mother, James’ parents and his two children from his previous marriage.

“We were quiet for a while, but then it started to get less quiet, so I thought I’d say something. It was just the two of us, the kids Zara and Cadel, my parents and Tegan’s mum,” James said. News.com.au.
“There needs to be witnesses there, so we thought our mothers would be the witnesses and we wanted the children to be there because they are an important part of everything.”
Prior to dating Tegan, James enjoyed a short-lived romance with Kyly Clarke, the ex-wife of retired Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke.
Kyly and James actually met as children, before reconnecting via social media when their respective marriages ended.
They are believed to have ended their romance in December 2020.
