A woman who police say drove five times the legal limit allegedly crashed into four cars as she tried to leave a shopping centre car park.

Police were called to the car park of the Topham shopping centre in the Adelaide CBD at 7:20 p.m. Friday to view the trail of carnage allegedly left by the 42-year-old woman’s silver Mercedes-Benz sedan.

Four cars were severely damaged and some were trapped against the concrete pillars of the car park.

Drivers who had been shopping at the mall returned to find their vehicles in various states of destruction.

The Mercedes-Benz driver’s blood alcohol level was reportedly 0.257, more than five times the legal limit.

Officers charged the woman with drunk driving and gave her an immediate 12-month license loss notice.

The woman will be summoned to appear in court at a later date.
