A cleaning queen has revealed five clever ways to ensure your home always smells fresh and welcoming.
Chantel Mila, from Melbourne, noticed that smells from food and everyday activities often lingered in her home.
You don’t need expensive air fresheners or daily deep cleanings to come home to an odor-free space, and Chantel’s tips are proof of that.
The mother of two tried several tricks to make her house smell good permanently and shared the best budget tricks in a video.
Some ingredients you will need are vanilla extract, essential oils, baking soda, and shaving cream.
Chantel’s first tip is to place two tablespoons of vanilla extract in a baking dish and put it in the oven to ‘bake’ for a few minutes.
“Your house will smell like cookies,” he revealed.
The mother also opts for soaking cotton balls in essential oils and placing them strategically around the house, such as under garbage bags.
Chantel also puts the cotton balls inside her vacuum cleaner so the scent goes through the filter every time she cleans the house.
Some items, such as dishwashers, give off a “musty” smell when used every day.
To combat the odor, Chantel recommends running a cycle with a cup of baking soda to reset the dishwasher.

The mother’s last advice is a little disconcerting, but she follows it with complete oath.
‘You can notNeutralize bathroom odors by scrubbing the floor with shaving cream,” he revealed.
Shaving foam has cleansing properties because it contains a compound called surfactants, which are made up of detergents and fats.
Surfactants reduce the surface tension between water and the object it is placed on and allow liquids to flow across the surfaces, allowing dirt to be removed easily.
The foam also contains 30 percent soap, emulsifiers, emollients and has antibacterial properties.
