A healthy five-year-old boy fell asleep and never woke up, and his sudden death left his family heartbroken.

His devastated family said the five-year-old boy had no previous illness or injury and had fallen asleep normally like any other night.

Cruz leaves behind his devastated parents, Hannah and Blake Achilles, and his older brother and younger sister.

“Our hearts are completely broken and our lives will never be the same,” Achilles wrote in a tribute on Facebook.

‘Being in denial is less painful than reality.

“We love you, our beautiful little warrior, fly high and soon we will be together again.”

Her aunt Siobhan Cameron has created a GoFundMe to help support Cruz’s family and cover funeral expenses.

“Cruz was a beacon of love and light, a warrior who filled our lives with joy and laughter,” he wrote.

‘Having your child be here one moment and gone the next is a parent’s worst nightmare that no one should ever have to endure.

“His absence has left an unimaginable void in our family, one that can never be filled.”

Cameron said his brother, Mr Achilles, is also trying to get a new job after his workplace closed.

“I can’t stand to see my family struggling silently through this pain,” he wrote.

The fundraiser has raised just under $3,000 as of this publication.

SUDC refers to the sudden death of a child 12 months or older that remains unexplained.
