Bert Newton’s reclusive son, Matthew, and his wife Catherine Schneiderman said goodbye to the big smoke of New York two years ago and moved to Texas.
And now pictures have emerged of the couple’s sprawling $2.2 million estate.
Located on a private street in Dripping Springs, southwest of Austin, the five-bedroom, six-bathroom residence sits on a sprawling 4,639-square-foot lot.
The luxurious property features a number of luxurious amenities, including an outdoor pool and large outdoor fireplace for guests to enjoy.
Built in 2016, the red brick house also features a private driveway and parking area, an entertaining terrace and a garden shed.

Matthew and Catherine, who married in 2017, purchased the home in September 2021 and are still listed on the property deed as co-owners.
The first reports emerged about Matthew and Catherine moving to Texas in June 2022.
Woman’s Day reported that they had packed their two-bedroom apartment on New York’s Upper West Side and moved to a remote ranch.

“They live in Austin and love it,” a source told the magazine at the time.
“Catherine never thought that, as a true New Yorker, she would ever move to Texas, but she has realized that it is a perfect fit and the slower pace is doing her husband a lot of good.”
However, Woman’s Day reported earlier this month that the couple had split after “a difficult couple of years” and Catherine remained in the Texas home while the Australian actor returned to New York, a claim Matthew has denied.

The first reports of Matthew and Catherine moving to Texas emerged in June 2022, when Woman’s Day reported that they had packed up their two-bedroom apartment on New York’s Upper West Side and moved to the remote ranch.
“Matty has faced major obstacles over the past 24 months and the stress has simply taken its toll on their relationship,” a source reportedly told the publication.
“Cat and Matthew had been looking for a fresh start in Texas a few years ago, but unfortunately it didn’t help.”
The publication also claimed that his mother Patti, 79, was “worried” about Matthew and was considering flying to the United States to help him settle in New York.

They claim Matthew reached out to their mother when their marriage broke down and Patti “dropped everything” to help him from afar.
When contacted for comment, Matthew denied that he and Catherine had split.
Catherine, daughter of former New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, still appears to live in Texas and has struck up a friendship with a local man named Troy Evans.

Evans has even had his name tattooed on his arm.
Instagram photos uploaded by Catherine in March show the brunette posing arm in arm with a heavily tattooed Troy while they attended a rodeo in Texas.
She also shared a photo of the couple posing together on a farm wearing cowboy hats in December 2023, captioned with the words: ‘Giddy Up.’
The brunette also appears to have undergone a dramatic transformation in recent months, debuting a noticeably slimmer figure.

Catherine sparked speculation that there was trouble in paradise after she recently shared a selfie on Instagram in which she was not wearing her wedding ring.
The photo captured Catherine holding her phone with her left hand and her diamond wedding ring was nowhere to be seen.
Catherine captioned the gallery of snaps with some cryptic words: “Just like the life to come, teach me a lesson.”
The man also has Catherine’s name tattooed on his arm inside a love heart.
Matthew has not been to Australia in years and did not return for his father’s funeral in 2021.
He has had a quiet and anonymous life in the United States after a series of scandals.
This includes allegations of domestic violence from two ex-girlfriends: Australian actresses Brooke Satchwell, 43, and Rachael Taylor, 39.
In 2007, he pleaded guilty to assaulting Satchwell. A judge would later overturn the conviction because Matthew suffered from a “major depressive disorder.”

Three years later, Matthew received a two-year domestic violence arrest warrant after Taylor reported that he had assaulted her in a Rome hotel.
He was also arrested twice in Miami, Florida, in 2012: once for trespassing and resisting officers, while in a second incident he was charged with assault and resisting arrest after attacking a hotel receptionist.
Following the charges, Matthew entered the Betty Ford Center in California to receive 90 days of alcohol and drug treatment.
Matthew began dating Catherine after meeting her in New York in 2012.
