Teenage girl dies after horrific electric scooter crash in North Queensland

A teenage girl has died after a horrific electric scooter accident in northern Queensland.

Police said the 15-year-old girl collided first with a Mitsubishi Pajero and then with a motorcycle at the intersection of Deeragun Road and Bruce Highway in Deeragun, west of Townsville, about 5.15pm on Monday.

Tragically, she died at the scene.

The 65-year-old motorcyclist from Ingham suffered serious but non-life-threatening internal and spinal injuries.

The 36-year-old Townsville woman driving the Pajero was not injured.

The Bruce Highway was closed for several hours before reopening.

Police are investigating the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact PoliceLink on 131 444.
