Sydney childcare worker charged with sexually touching a child and common assault

The man was charged with one count of intentional sexual touching of a child under 10 and common assault at Penrith Police Station (pictured) on Thursday.

A daycare worker has been charged with alleged sexual abuse of a child.

The 34-year-old man was arrested at a warehouse in Kemps Creek, in Sydney’s west, by detectives from the state child abuse squad at 12.45pm on Thursday.

He was taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with one count of intentionally sexually touching a child under 10 and common assault.

The man was refused bail and will appear at Penrith Local Court on Friday.

Detectives launched investigations in September after receiving a report that a toddler had been sexually abused at a Sydney daycare.
