The ‘Gin & Juice’ hitmaker has been supporting Team USA and has a deal with NBC to provide content and commentary during the Games.

NBC says it had 35.4 million viewers on the central Sunday, more than double the number on the equivalent day during the Tokyo Olympics, and that Snoop proved a hit with fans.

Now, two reports have given an insight into his staggering earnings, which would be the envy of any sports star.

Henry McNamaraone of Forbes’ most influential young businessmen in the world, claimed he heard from an NBC executive that Snoop gets paid £393,000 ($500,000) a day, plus expenses, just in case that wasn’t enough.

Meanwhile, the German media Image An NBC employee reportedly told her she could earn up to £11.78m ($15m) at the Games, with a TV ratings bonus in her contract.

It is a huge leap of faith by NBC, which in 2014 secured a £4.5bn broadcast deal until 2032 with the International Olympic Committee.

That said, Snoop isn’t entirely new to the game. Three years ago in Tokyo, he and comedian Kevin Hart offered streaming commentary on Peacock.

Its Olympic coverage generated “tens of millions of views” for NBC in 2021, said the network’s executive producer and president of Olympic production, Molly Solomon.

“That performance alone has earned Snoop a job as our Special Correspondent in Paris. We don’t know what the heck is going to happen each day, but we do know he’ll bring his unique perspective to our revamped primetime Olympic program,” Solomon said.
