Lauren Phillips is said to be demanding a big payday after her Nova FM radio show beat rival breakfast show The Kyle and Jackie O show in the ratings.
Lauren and her co-host Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins’ radio show was axed by KIIS FM last year to make way for Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson’s big expansion into Melbourne.
But the duo had ultimate revenge after moving to rival network Nova FM, and their show continued to beat Kyle and Jackie O in the Melbourne radio ratings.
Lauren is now said to be asking for a “massive raise” following the success of the show.
“Lauren Phillips is doing quite well in her market with her co-host Jase Hawkins, but wants to rival Kyle and Jackie O’s pay packages,” a source told Daily Mail Australia.
But the source says Lauren is completely out of his league. In the pecking order, she’s still relatively new to radio compared to Kyle and Jackie O, who have been on the airwaves for nearly two decades.

The source added that the salary conversation is out of control and radio has always been an uneven playing field.

It has also become impossible to manage expectations from other radio shows after Kyle and Jackie O made their salaries public.
Trust Kyle to show his money knowing that no one in the industry has that kind of money. “It is quite rude to talk about dollars and before it was prohibited,” they added.
‘However, the laws have changed. It used to be in your contract that you weren’t allowed to share how much you were paid, but now employers can’t legally force you not to talk about your salary anymore.

However, Kate Langbroek and His former radio co-host Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes could be in for a big payday if they reunite to create the same magic they had when they were on Hit FM.
The couple last presented Hit FM’s Hughesy & Kate show in 2019, before Langbroek took a step back from the show to move to Italy.
“There are several radio stations talking to Hughesy and Langbroek who want them to meet,” the source said.
“They are both very interested in putting on a new show and our radio expert thinks they could command a huge salary to get back on the airwaves.”
