Princess Sofia of Sweden, 39, made her first public appearance since the Swedish Royal Family announced her fourth pregnancy.

Princess Sofia of Sweden and her husband Prince Carl Philip made their first appearance since the palace announced her pregnancy.

The 39-year-old mother-of-four was beaming as she visited a Volvo plant with her husband this morning in Varmland, just two days after the Swedish royal family announced the happy news.

Upon arriving at the location, Sofia was wearing flared black trousers, a white ribbed sweater and a pashmina draped over her shoulders. Her baby bump was barely visible beneath her outfit.

The couple, who married in 2015, already have three children, Prince Alexander, seven, Prince Gabriel, five, and Prince Julian, two.

Carl Philip, 45, is the only son and second child of King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and Queen Silvia. His elder sister Princess Victoria, 47, is the heir to the Swedish throne and he is currently fourth in line to the throne.

A statement shared by the Swedish Royal Family on Monday read: ‘Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia have great pleasure to announce that the Princess is expecting the couple’s fourth child.

‘Princess Sofia is doing well and the birth is scheduled for February 2025. No changes are expected in Princess Sofia’s official schedule during the autumn.’

The statement was shared alongside a sweet photo of the couple, in which Carl Philip smiles at the camera and his wife rests her head on his face. In the background, an impressive lake and several mountains can be seen.

Over the weekend, the couple attended the wedding of Princess Märtha Louise of Norway and shaman Durek Verrett on Saturday.

The princess wore her brown hair in loose waves that fell over her shoulders.

Princess Sofia linked arms with her husband, Prince Carl Phillip, as she arrived at the lavish event wearing a flowing yellow ombré gown.

Sofia exuded elegance in a long-sleeved, high-waisted silk dress designed by Swedish fashion designer Lilli Jahilo.

The dress’s bright, warm color and long sleeves were a fitting choice for the chilly summer day in the Norwegian city of Geiranger, where temperatures averaged just 14°C.

Sofia was seen carrying a fluffy white jumper under her arm to the wedding ceremony in case she needed an extra layer of warmth.

She paired the vibrant dress with a pair of nude platform heels by Gianvito Rossi and a pale gold Susan Szatmary Port Doré clutch.

Her long, brown hair, pulled back in a half-updo, was highlighted by a pair of $24,000 earrings from Copenhagen jeweller Ole Lynggaard.

Sofia added an extra touch of sparkle to her chic ensemble with a €5,700 Bigli jewellery ring on her left middle finger.

This is not the first time that the Swedish princess has worn the Lilli Jahilo dress. Sofia is already used to repeating her style, as in December 2022 she wore the ombré dress to the Nobel Prize dinner at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

Princess Sofia was one of 350 guests at the wedding of Norwegian Princess Märtha Louise, 52, to Durek Verrett, 49, who claims to be a sixth-generation shaman from California.

Märtha Louise and Princess Sofia have been good friends for years thanks to the close relationship between the Swedish and Norwegian royal houses.

The newlyweds tied the knot in picturesque Geiranger, one of Norway’s top tourist attractions, situated on a fjord with stunning views.

Guests left the wedding ceremony tent shortly after 3 p.m. local time and walked down a red carpet to the nearby hotel reception.
