  • Kyren Wheeldon left heartbroken after his mountain bike was stolen

This is the shocking moment when an Amazon delivery driver steals a 12-year-old boy’s bicycle that was abandoned in a front garden.

Mother Beckie Wheeldon said her son Kyren was left “heartbroken” by the brazen daylight robbery on February 15 in Bulwell, Nottinghamshire.

Kyren had cycled 20 minutes to a friend’s house and left his Carrera on the front lawn around 4pm.

About half an hour later, CCTV footage shows the delivery man arriving with a parcel at the house, which he leaves behind a wheelie bin. As he walks back to the truck, he looks at the bike before exiting the shot.

A moment later he is seen picking up the bike before calmly carrying it to the Amazon van, which then drives away.

When Kyren returned a few hours later, he discovered his bike was gone and called his mother while “crying his eyes out” for his lost bike.

Mum Beckie said: ‘This is heartbreaking for him. He was crying his eyes out on the phone telling me what had happened.

“I thought it would have been a normal young man stealing the bike to get some money.”

‘You would never have thought I would be a delivery driver. He loved that bike. She was angry and upset about him.”

Kyren received the mountain bike as a Christmas present last year and Beckie said it was “his way of socializing” as he used to ride it at the local BMX track near his house.

An Amazon spokesperson confirmed that the delivery person “will no longer be delivering packages.”

They said: ‘We have very high standards for the delivery service providers we work with and how they serve customers.

‘We are taking this matter seriously and have contacted the customer to resolve it. The delivery person will no longer deliver Amazon packages.’

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police confirmed they are investigating the theft of bicycles on February 15.
