Podziemski stays late after Warriors-Blazers game to correct strange stat line originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
Brandin Podziemski, if analysts and fans were to look at one statistic and one statistic only, had an excellent game in the Devastating 139-104 for the Warriors of the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday at the Moda Center.
However, that statistic (Podziemski’s astonishing plus-34 plus-minus) doesn’t tell the full story of his performance in the Warriors’ season-opening victory.
In 24 minutes on the court, Podziemski scored zero points on 0 of 5 field goals and 0 of 4 on three-pointers, while collecting seven rebounds and four assists.
Although Golden State built a 34-point lead over Portland in minutes when Podziemski was on the court, it was not satisfied with his performance.
Hours after the game, Podziemski was seen on the court taking shots in an effort to correct his poor shooting night.

While his plus-34 plus-minus in a game in which he missed every shot is certainly an impressive statistical feat (and, in part, a testament to his multifaceted impact on the game), Podziemski knows he can be better.
