It seems as though Oasis have predicted their own success, as they boast of being “the best band on the planet” in a resurfaced clip.
The Gallagher brothers announced their groundbreaking tour earlier this week as fans brace themselves for carnage this weekend when tickets go on sale.
And while Oasis is the word on everyone’s lips, Liam never doubted this moment would come after making some bold predictions back in the ’90s.
Sitting down with Zoe Ball in 1994, the presenter asked the duo: “You’re being touted as the best band around, is all the hype true?”
He had barely finished his question when Liam replied: “Yes. We are the best band on the planet right now. It’s a fact.”
Oasis foretold their own prophecy by insisting they are “the best band on the planet” in a resurfaced interview from the heyday of Definitely Maybe in 1994.

As Noel explained, while to the public the band seemed like an overnight success, they had been together for three and a half years and described it as a “long road.”
He added: “We’re taking it slow because we deserve all the praise we’re getting right now because we write the best songs.”
But Liam’s confidence didn’t stop there as he explained his bold plans for the future, which may now be coming true.
The rock star said: ‘We just want to be the biggest band in the world, today, for today, and that’s it, end of story.
“And we want all the things that come with that. Oh, I want to be a big pop star and I want to blow people away because they’ll be like, ‘Look at him, look at him,’ and I’ll be like, ‘Mwuh.'”
“I know what I’m saying, but I want it and I’m not ashamed of it. A lot of people are ashamed of all the success they have and say, ‘Oh, I didn’t really want it.'”
“Of course you wanted it because that’s what you do, you do it, no matter if you’re in a band or whatever.”
The gang was known in their time for their crazy antics, and when Zoe arrives at the hotel to interview them, she is shocked to discover that the room hasn’t been destroyed.

‘I’m a little disappointed because I came here expecting to find the place totally trashed. But I got there and they were both asleep and it was actually pretty tidy.
“Is this all a big lie? Do you really trash hotel rooms?” Zoe asked.
“No,” Liam replied before Noel confirmed, “Yes, he does,” and Liam countered, “No, I don’t.”

Tickets go on sale on Saturday, however coveted Oasis tickets have already appeared on a resale website for £1,700 before sales have even begun for the Gallagher brothers’ groundbreaking reunion tour.
Berlin, Germany-based resale website Ticombo said it had 189 tickets available to buy for the concert at Heaton Park in Manchester on July 12.
Tickets were priced between £450 and £1,659 and despite the show taking place in a field, they claimed to have options for ‘upper tier’ seating.
He Yo The paper reported that these were being sold alongside a £149 “reservation fee”, and the listings were removed after contacting the website.
Ticombo told the paper: “There is no reason to believe that any of the listings created by our users in relation to the Oasis concert are not legitimate.”
The website said it has “requested proof from sellers of its origin and is temporarily disabling sales for this event until official sales begin or a seller provides proof.”
They’re the hottest tickets in town, and the price is right up there: it costs a whopping £151 to attend the Oasis reunion tour.
And for older fans who can’t stand two hours on their feet, seated tickets start at £73, rising to a hefty £205.
There are also a selection of deluxe packages available for deep-pocketed Oasis fans, ranging from £216 to £506. These include promotional items, plus access to a pre-show party and a private Oasis screening.
By comparison, the most expensive standing room tickets for Taylor Swift’s recent Wembley concerts cost £172, while standing room tickets for Adele’s concerts in Munich this month cost £350.
