Netflix fans have issued a warning not to watch a terrifying horror movie alone after it “made their anxiety go through the roof”.
The horror film, originally released two years ago, has been climbing the Netflix charts and viewers have been shocked and scared by the haunted house scenes.
The film, titled The Deep House, has captured the attention of movie lovers this summer and has been the focus of attention on social media.
Co-directed by French filmmakers Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo and distributed by Blumhouse Productions (the studio that made horror films Get Out, The Invisible Man and Five Nights at Freddy’s), the team has delivered another chilling film.
The story centers on two YouTubers named Ben and Tina who travel to well-known haunted locations to create content for their channel.

The newly engaged couple travel to France to explore a sanitarium submerged in an artificial lake and unearth a gloomy house filled with terrifying surprises.
The film, which received a 74 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, has been called “creepy and unnerving” by critics.
People were stunned by the film’s unique perspective, which saw most of the footage shot underwater, with the two protagonists relying on oxygen tanks and flimsy flashlights to see through the lake’s dark depths.
Many people even took to social media to warn others not to watch horror movies alone, taking to Facebook and writing: ‘Don’t watch it alone’ and ‘My anxiety about enclosed spaces and deep water increased while watching this last year.’
Another chimed in: “Thanks for the insomnia Netflix #TheDeepHouse.”
Members of the review website took to the comments to share their opinions.
Critic Meagan Navarro wrote in her review at the time of its release: ‘The underwater setting gives it an otherworldly, haunting quality like no other and makes the ghosts in the house all the more uncanny.
He added: “It’s more convenient to let the flow slowly wash over your audience than to provide a sensory assault, so enjoyment will likely vary depending on how willing one is to dive into the details rather than the simplified story.”
Others used X to express their shock at the ending and warn people they are “not ready for The Depp House. It’s CRAZY!”

Other critics shared the audience’s fear. and praised the impressive yet terrifying film.
Dennis Harvey, writing for Variety, said: “Needless to say, it’s ominous when you see newspaper clippings about missing children on the walls; even more so when a nearly life-size crucifix is discovered blocking the entrance to some sort of secret chamber. But the worst is yet to come.”
He added: “The tension generated by damp claustrophobia and the threat of suffocation as the air supply diminishes make this house a very scary place.”
The duo behind the film, is one of their first successes since their debut 14 years ago with The home invasion thriller Inside.
His subsequent English-language horror film, Leatherface, was poorly received, but The Depp House has had audiences on the edge of their seats for three years.
