Nat Barr clasped his hands sadly after hearing a sad story about a Melbourne couple who were robbed of more than $15,000 worth of belongings, including prized photo albums, in a brazen daylight robbery.

Joanna Sinz and Archie Grant were saying goodbye to their family in the inner north suburb of Fitzroy on Tuesday afternoon ahead of an interstate move.

Their cars, full of moving belongings, were parked on the street while they said goodbye.

But when they saw Mrs. Sinz’s purse on the ground, they saw two thieves ransacking their vehicles.

The perpetrators smashed the first car’s window and took spare keys from the glove compartment before breaking into their Subaru XV sedan parked on a nearby street.

The couple ran in an attempt to thwart the robbery, but it was too late.

Mrs. Sinz managed to rip a shoe off one of the perpetrators before they sped away.

“I just remember shouting, ‘This is it, this is all we have…don’t take it,'” Mr. Grant said. 7news.

Everything the couple owned was inside the Subaru, including a television, a laptop and an iPad worth up to $15,000 and prized items such as family photographs.

Barr was told on Thursday morning that Victoria Police had found the car but none of his belongings.

“Completely empty, not even photos they would like to leave behind,” said Mrs. Sinz.

The Sunrise presenter was left stunned by the couple’s loss.

‘Oh, did they take pictures of you?’ Barr asked as he clapped his hands together and made a face.

“I’m so sorry guys,” he added.

Daily Mail Australia has approached Victoria Police for comment.
