The reigning Miss World Australia winner has spoken about a “scary” encounter when she and a group of aspiring models were forced to fend off a suspected random attacker outside a shopping centre.

Jasmine Stringer and a group of Top Model Australia contestants had just finished their runway workout at a gym in Southport Park shopping center on the Gold Coast around 6pm on Friday night.

The group of contest hopefuls, some as young as 14, went outside to wait for their taxis when they noticed a woman across the street allegedly acting erratically.

The woman then confronted the models who were allegedly physically and verbally assaulted during the terrifying experience.

“I tried to stand my ground without escalating the situation, but she lunged at me and tried to punch me in the face. It was a terrifying situation,” Ms Stringer told the mail.

Stringer claimed the woman allegedly continued to insult and physically attack some of the girls.

The alleged incident was also witnessed by Tiarnie Mueller, who was accompanying her daughter Eloise, 16, a finalist in the Top Model Australia competition.

Cairns’ mother claimed that the woman knocked one of the other contestants to the ground by pulling his hair.

Mueller attempted to help free the girl from the alleged attacker, who thought he was going to “tear out a big chunk of her hair.”

The woman then allegedly tried to hit Mueller’s other daughter.

“And then he approached my 14-year-old daughter and verbally abused her and tried to hit her,” she said.

The concerned father said the woman allegedly tried to open the taxi doors and began abusing his daughters again.

Miss World Australia director Deborah Miller was shocked that such a violent incident could occur in a “tourist area” like the Gold Coast.

‘People come to this place from all over the world. It was terrifying. “I also live in Los Angeles and I have never seen someone with so much rage and anger, and targeting teenagers and young women,” she said.

Additional security would now be implemented immediately to protect participants at all events.

Miller also promised to ensure procedures are in place to ensure all contestants are safe.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia that a 46-year-old woman was located outside the center and was given a notice to report for breach of the peace.

She was not charged in connection with the alleged attack.
