Former first lady Michelle Obama embarked on another “secret mission” yesterday, this time in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Obama stopped by King’s English Bookshop yesterday to purchase a copy of his 2022 book The Light We Carry, a New York Times and USA Today bestseller.
The author entered the store wearing a dark hat that resembled the item she wore during her adventure at the Missouri Target store.
This time, he was wearing a matching black jacket and sunglasses. Instagram videohoping that no one would recognize her.
His costume didn’t work, as customers started taking photos and videos right after he finished autographing some of his 2022 books.
Obama’s costume may not have mattered, especially since the store’s co-owner, Anne Holman, already knew she was coming.

Obama decided to enter King’s English Bookstore and sign more copies of his 2022 book, The Light We Carry. The book was a New York Times bestseller.
King’s English Bookshop co-owner Anne Holman revealed that she had known about Obama’s planned visit since the week before he arrived.

“When she gets there, it’s really happening, it’s cool because she’s Michelle Obama, but she’s also someone you could really be friends with,” Holman said.
Obama didn’t tell viewers how she chose to enter this rack, but she was excited to wear her “dusty, trusty costume” and “dazzling glasses.”
He began signing copies of The Light We Carry almost immediately and praised another book called Our Hidden Conversations: What Americans Really Think About Race and Identity by Michele Norris.
Customers in the back looked at her and whispered as she flipped through the book, but Obama didn’t seem to notice.
She and the camerawoman also looked at clothes inside the bookstore, and the former First Lady found a framed photo of her husband, Barack Obama, hanging under a shelf.
He bought more than one item at the bookstore, much to the happiness of his employees.
“I received a great read for my upcoming trips, a beautiful robe, consider it a very successful adventure,” Obama said.
Obama hoped her disguise would be enough so customers wouldn’t recognize her. However, more than one buyer couldn’t stop looking at it.

Obama completed the ‘secret mission’ in Salt Lake City just weeks after he made a special trip to a Target store in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Walking into a Target, the acclaimed author signed copies of The Light We Carry while wearing a neon yellow sweatshirt and sunglasses.
She then grabbed a basket and purchased a variety of items, including a T-shirt, matching pajamas, and a pet toy.
The Target employee seemed very calm around Obama, but didn’t seem to recognize her.
However, he did compliment her hair as Obama was ready to leave.
Obama’s King’s English Bookshop video was flooded with comments after she posted it on Instagram, one of which came from the store itself.
The author signed copies of The Light We Carry while at Missouri Target and went on a quick shopping spree soon after.
Instagram users flooded her video taken in Salt Lake City with comments. One of the commenters was written by someone who controls the bookstore’s Instagram.
‘Thank you very much for visiting us! “We are honored and greatly appreciate your incredible support of bookstores and literacy,” the bookstore commented.
Others have praised the bookstore itself, and one person thanked Obama for visiting Salt Lake City.
“I love you… In my opinion, the best first lady ever and you are so funny, real, exciting, adventurous, kind and compassionate,” one Instagram user wrote.
Some Instagram users wrote how excited they were to purchase the book, with one person hoping to “get their hands on a signed copy.”
