Meghan Markle wants Prince Harry to “put aside” the legal battle over the safety of her family as she wants the Duke to be “free”, sources have said.
Harry is continuing to appeal against a UK High Court ruling over his safety, having lost several rounds of the case against the Home Office.
A close friend of Harry said the duke’s calls to his father about the issues are being “answered,” according to a report by People magazine.
Meghan hopes the Duke can “put these demands aside” and “live in the moment,” sources told the American magazine.
The report quoted a former employee of the Sussexes’ Archewell Foundation as saying: ‘(Meghan) wants him to be free of all this, but she also knows that because of everything he’s been through and his love for (her and their children), he can’t do that.

Earlier this year, a High Court judge ruled that Harry had “completely lost” an attempt to appeal against a Home Office decision on his safety in the UK.
She had been awaiting a judicial review into a decision by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) to remove her right to automatic police protection after she decided to leave the working royal family.
Harry still receives protection when returning to Britain in certain circumstances, but must give 28 days’ notice of his plans.
Harry reportedly believes his father should intervene on the security issue to ensure his youngest son and his family are safe when in the UK.
Communication between Harry and Charles, sources told People magazine, has gone from frustration to “complete silence.”

“She’s not asking her father for a nicer house or better cars. She’s asking because the situation is real. She’s in danger,” said a source.
The legal battle has raised fears that Charles may never be reunited with his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as Harry refuses to bring his family to the UK.
Royal experts told The Mail on Sunday that the King will become “increasingly distant” from the children in an “incredibly sad situation”.
King Charles last saw Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, in June 2022 when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
