A mega skyscraper planned for Dubai will be the second thinnest building in the world.
The 1,247-foot Muraba Veil building will measure just 74 feet wide, which would make the project the second thinnest skyscraper in the world.
There will be 131 two- to five-bedroom apartments spread over 73 floors, according to plans by United Arab Emirates-based developer Muraba.
Prices for the luxury flats will start at approximately £3.8 million (Dh18 million).
Once built, the only skyscraper that will be even thinner than Muraba Veil is New York’s 111 West 57th Street, 1,428 feet tall and just 60 feet wide.
The slim Muraba Veil tower (center) is planned to be located next to a canal and Sheikh Zayed Road, one of Dubai’s busiest roads.
The new skyscraper will have a huge spa, restaurant, gallery, paddle tennis court and a private cinema.
Each apartment will span the entire width of the 74-foot building and is designed after traditional Arab houses.

In the center of the tower will be a patio that the developer says will be “softened with shade and greenery.”

Award-winning Spanish architecture firm RCR Arquitectes is behind the design.
The firm, which won the Nobel Prize for architecture, the prestigious Pritzker Prize, in 2017, has already collaborated with the developer Muraba on four other projects.
For Muraba Veil, the architects have planned for a “stainless steel mesh” to cover the façade, to symbolize the first “layer” of the building, its “veil.”
The Velo is supposed to be completed in December 2028.
The revealed plans for Muraba Veil come two years after developers revealed they were planning a “hypertower” in Dubai, which they hope will overtake the 1,550-foot Central Park Tower in New York as the world’s tallest residential building.
The building, called Burj Binghatti Jacob & Co Residences, is a collaboration between Emirati property development company Binghatti and watchmaker Jacob & Co.
In a 2022 statement, they state that the goal is to ‘set a record as one of the tallest residential buildings in the world.’
The Central Park Tower has 98 floors; the plan is for the ‘ultra-luxury’ Burj Binghatti Jacob & Co Residences to have 100 of them.

Burj Binghatti Jacob & Co Residences will comprise more than 100 floors and will house luxurious two- and three-bedroom residences.
And it won’t just be the height that will draw attention, as renderings show how the building will wear a “crown” of diamond-shaped spiers.
The building, which will “rise opulently in the heart of Dubai’s most eminent financial district, Business Bay”, is promised to be glamorous on the inside too.
A statement reads: ‘The proposed layout comprises over 100 flats which are made up of luxury two and three bedroom residences.
“This hypertower is also home to a dedicated concierge team offering a la carte services such as daycare, bodyguard, chauffeur and private chef.”
Meanwhile, atop Burj Binghatti Jacob & Co Residences will be home to “five of Dubai’s most luxurious and exclusive penthouses.”
The tower will also house an “exclusive” private club that will feature “an extensive infinity pool” and a “vast” lounge.
The residential tower will be completed in June 2026.
The Veil and Burj Binghatti Jacob & Co Residences will join the world’s tallest building, the 2,723-foot Burj Khalifa, as part of Dubai’s ever-evolving skyline.
