Machine Gun Kelly’s new tattoo has come under fire from fans after he covered the top half of his body in black ink.
The rapper, 33, whose real name is Colson Baker, surprised his fans when he debuted the dramatic new torso cover-up on Tuesday.
Black ink wraps around his upper body, while some of his original tattoos can still be seen through the panels along his arms and within the cross symbol etched into his chest.
The artist shared a snapshot of the tattoo on his Instagram along with the caption: “For spiritual purposes only.”
But Kelly’s new look hasn’t gone down well with many of her fans, with one asking: ‘Did someone draw it with a marker?’

Kelly gave context for why she got the dramatic new tattoo in an emotionally charged new song where she hinted that she had suffered a nervous breakdown.
He raps, “Lately my thoughts eat me alive / I lay in bed thinking maybe the hate will finally go away if I’m not alive,” he raps at the beginning of the song.
The performer then adds: “I wish I hadn’t listened like I wish I was understood once / I had a nervous breakdown and I tattooed my whole body except for one line / Everything is fine.”
One concerned fan wrote after the release: “Literally the most heartbreaking and heartfelt song I’ve heard in a long time.”
The rapper appeared to be addressing pressures in his personal life regarding his relationship with fiancée Megan Fox, battling suicidal thoughts and dealing with the death of his father.
His tattoo artist Roxx told him TMZ The rock star participated in a “spiritual consultation” before immersing himself in the process.

During this session, MGK conveyed to him that his existing tattoos no longer resonated with his current mindset, calling them “chaotic.”
The procedure seemed to be a formidable task and Roxx mentioned that MGK was “the most difficult client he’s ever had.”
He also said that the process began in mid-December, when MGK would constantly visit his private Los Angeles studio four days a week for thirteen six-hour sessions.
The artist still has work to do on the musician and added that the project is “one of the biggest she has done in such a short time.”
Roxx took to her own Instagram to share a different photo of her amazing work on MGK.
Echoing his comments to the outlet, he captioned it: “Made some art with @machinegunkelly. Never met a harder one.”
MGK responded in the comments section, writing, “thank you for the joy and pain.”
In an emotionally charged new song titled Don’t Let Me Go, released on Wednesday, the rapper hinted that he had suffered a “breakdown” before receiving the tattoo.

The post comes after Kelly’s fiancée, Megan Fox, debuted a new sleeve tattoo while attending a star-studded Grammy viewing party on Sunday in Los Angeles.
In June, the musician adorned his already heavily tattooed arm with an additional design.
In August 2021, she unveiled a new matching tattoo with Travis Barker to coincide with the announcement of her sixth album, Born with Horn.
Prior to this, the duo collaborated on MGK’s pop-punk album, Tickets to My Downfall.
Meanwhile, her best friend Megan expanded her tattoo collection by putting a full sleeve on her left arm.
The tattoo shows a large, intricate black and gray depiction of a flying phoenix complemented by blooming flowers outlined in vibrant red ink.
