A wild fight broke out at a Father’s Day car event that had been advertised as a “great family day out.”

Footage shows several figures trading savage punches and kicks against prone opponents at Sunday’s “Father’s Day cruise” at Lakeside Park Raceway, Kurwongbah, on the western outskirts of the south-east Queensland town of Moreton Bay.

The video, posted on Facebook, shows two men wearing what appear to be officers’ orange high-visibility shirts opening the driver’s side door of a parked red car and apparently removing a person.

As the driver exits the vehicle, three other men rush in and begin fighting with the men in orange.

A flurry of punches and kicks are exchanged in hand-to-hand combat and one man falls to the ground, rips his shirt and is kicked by one of the men in orange.

Custom and show cars continually pass by the circuit as the battle continues.

A female voice is heard saying, “Oh shit, it’s on now.”

A seventh person dressed in orange runs to the scene but does not get involved in the fight.

One person commenting on Facebook claimed the red car leaked oil for three laps of the circuit and was unable to get off the track.

However, others denied it or blamed the track officials.

“Regardless of whether he did not do it when he was supposed to, no track official should take things to this level,” one person wrote.

“There are right ways to do things on the track.”

Others agreed.

“This is disgusting behaviour on the part of the officials,” one person wrote.

“I hope they are banned from the slopes for a while.”

However, some placed the blame on both sides.

“We all go to the lake to have fun and have a great day. There is always a minority who want to spoil the party for everyone else.”
