Jude Bellingham will reportedly spend a month on the sidelines after suffering a leg injury.

Real Madrid have confirmed that the 21-year-old is suffering from plantar fasciitis in his right leg and will be out until the end of September.

“Following tests carried out today on our player Jude Bellingham by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the plantar muscle of his right leg. We are awaiting further developments,” reads a statement published on the club’s website.

The news will come as a blow to England interim manager Lee Carsley as he prepares for his first games in charge of the senior team in September.

England have a pair of Nations League games next month, first taking on the Republic of Ireland in Dublin before hosting Finland at Wembley three days later.

After starting every game for England on their run to the Euro 2024 final this summer, Bellingham returned to Madrid for the UEFA Super Cup final against Atalanta earlier this month.

When Kylian Mbappe made his competitive debut for Los Blancos following his long-awaited move from PSG, Bellingham set up the Frenchman for a debut goal at Warsaw’s National Stadium as they began the season with silverware.

However, in the Galácticos’ first league game of the current season, Carlo Ancelotti’s side were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Mallorca after Vedat Muriqi cancelled out Rodrygo’s opener.

After the match, Carlo Ancelotti revealed that Bellingham had suffered an injury in training which ruled him out of Sunday’s clash with Real Valladolid.

However, reports claim the injury could keep him unavailable until late September.

The injury will mean Bellingham will miss Lee Carsley's first few games as England caretaker manager next month.

In his absence, Ancelotti could turn to Arda Guler to take Bellingham’s place in the starting XI.

The 19-year-old wowed fans with his performances for Turkey at the Euros but was limited to brief appearances off the bench in both the Super Cup final and their LaLiga opener on Sunday.
