The BCCI released the complete schedule of the IPL 2024 on Monday. The BCCI had earlier released the schedule for the first two weeks of the IPL 2024 (21 matches). The rest of the schedule has been prepared keeping in mind the voting dates and locations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections across the country. Like the season opener, Qualifier 2 and the Grand Final will take place in Chennai, home of reigning champions Chennai Super Kings. The Qualifier 2, which will be played between the loser of Qualifier 1 and the winner of the Eliminator, will take place on Friday, May 24, followed by the top clash on Sunday, May 26.
In the second phase, Delhi Capitals will play all their remaining five home matches in front of their enthusiastic home crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, after opting to play their first two home matches in Visakhapatnam.
Punjab Kings, who started their season at the PCA New International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, will culminate their home campaign in Dharamsala. The scenic stadium with breathtaking views will be home to PBKS, which will host two matches against Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 5 and 9 respectively.
Rajasthan Royals have also opted for a second venue in Guwahati and will play their last two home matches in Assam. They will first host Punjab Kings on May 15 and later against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 19, which will also conclude the league phase of the 17th season of IPL.
After a break on May 20, the spotlight shifts to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where an exciting Qualifier 1 match with two top teams will take place in the largest cricket stadium in the world on Tuesday, May 21, followed by the thrilling Eliminator on Wednesday, May 22. .
