Insiders have revealed the shocking comments Democrats made behind the scenes of their “sad” 22-minute interview.
The president met with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos on Friday as part of a damage control strategy following His disastrous debate against Donald Trump last month.
But his subdued performance once again failed to convince even those in his own party that he has the mental strength to last four more years.
Words like “heartbroken,” “doomed” and “damn mess” were used by more than half a dozen congressional Democrats. NBC reports.
Minnesota Rep. Angie Craig, who is fighting for her seat in the swing state, was so unconvinced that she became the latest elected Democrat to call for Biden to withdraw.

“There’s only a small window left to make sure we have the candidate best prepared to make his case and win,” Craig told the Washington Post.
‘Given what I saw and heard from the President during last week’s debate in Atlanta, coupled with the lack of a strong response from the President himself after that debate, I do not believe the President can effectively campaign and win against Donald Trump.’
Craig is the fifth sitting Democrat to call for Biden’s recall, while 13 other members of Congress and governors have expressed concern, according to a tally by the outlet.
A Democratic lawmaker who previously supported Biden told NBC that they will break their silence on Biden’s fate “soon.”
“I was saddened,” they said of Biden’s interview. “Totally out of touch with reality and cut off from the truth.”

The exchange of comments saw Biden answer questions in a hoarse, weary voice, often losing the thread mid-sentence and sometimes ignoring questions in an attempt to make sometimes outlandish claims about his record.
The performance was so lackluster that House Minority Leader and New York Rep. Hakeem Jeffries reportedly scheduled a call with senior White House officials on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Virginia Senator Mark R. Warner is said to be assembling a group to try to oust the ailing president.
A senior official told the president he should “prepare for a wild week.” ABC reports.
“The people on the front lines are all angry and personally ready to pull the trigger and ask Biden to step aside, but politically they are scared to death,” one anonymous aide added.
Biden, however, remained committed to running and dismissed concerns about his mental state.
He joins people like Wisconsin Rep. Seth Moulton who have also called for Biden to step down.
“Look, I have a cognitive test every day,” Biden said, referring to the tasks he faces daily in a rigorous job.
“I’m put to that test every day. In everything I do. You know, I’m not just campaigning, I’m running the world.”
But his refusal to commit to formal testing has also rankled Democratic politicians, with one describing him as a “problem.”
“There is a growing consensus in many quarters that action must be taken and that action should be taken by a different candidate,” the lawmaker said.
