American musician Gabe Pietrafesa (pictured) criticized Australian cafes for closing early

An American musician touring Australia has revealed the one aspect of our coffee culture he can’t adapt to.

Although Australia is famous for having some of the best coffee in the world, Gabe Pietrafesa has announced that the country’s cafes will close in the early afternoon.

In a video he recently shared, Pietrafesa was walking around Perth with a Redbull in hand, but admitted he really wanted to “go get coffee.”

Moments later he was very happy to find a café on the corner, Only to realize it closed at 2:00 p.m..

Still determined in his search, Pietrafesa found a nearby restaurant and asked if they served coffee.

Pietrafesa had a hard time finding a cafe in Perth as all their cafes closed at 2pm, something Perth residents also complained about.

Unfortunately, the coffee machine in the place was broken.

‘Was the coffee machine down? What is this? McDonald’s in America with the ice cream machine?’ Pietrafesa joked.

Soft serve ice cream machines are known to be out of service due to their need for cleaning.

After trying several more coffees without success, Pietrafesa couldn’t help but wonder if he was the problem.

“I’m starting to wonder if Perth hates me,” he said.

However, several West Australians who commented on his video were quick to assure Pietrafesa that he was not alone in his frustrations.

“Classic Perth, all the cafes close at 2pm,” one wrote.

“Perth’s closing time will never cease to amaze me,” wrote another.

“They close at 2pm so the pubs can open,” said another.
