A grandmother has revealed she is dating a Turkish toyboy who is the same age as her 19-year-old daughter.

Rachel McIntyre, 35, from Edinburgh, met her boyfriend Seskan during a two-month holiday in Marmaris, Türkiye, in June.

Seskan, 19, worked as a waiter at the hotel he was staying at and Rachel said she noticed him “immediately” because of his good looks.

Rachel said she ‘stepped back’ when she learned how old Seskan is since her daughter Beth is the same age and made her a grandmother at 34 when little Alaia was born at the end of July 2023.

But she said his “persistent flirting” won her over. “We spent all our free time together and little by little we fell in love,” he told the newspaper. Mirrorand added that they spent time together taking long bike rides and walks.

Rachel also said she was hesitant because a Turkish waiter she dated in September 2023 was “clearly looking for a visa.”

‘But Seskan is different: he is kind, intelligent, gentle, funny and a wonderful lover. He never asked me for money and usually pays when we go out,” he told the newspaper.

After Rachel returned to the UK in August, the couple strengthened their relationship by video calling regularly.

In September, Rachel returned to Türkiye with her 11-year-old daughter Erika, whom she took out of school – which “doesn’t get fined” in Scotland – to go on holiday.

“It’s a controversial situation, but it’s made me happier than I could have ever imagined. I know there will be criticism for taking Erika out of school to visit my young lover, but I don’t care,” Rachel told the Mirror.

Rachel and Seskan are also planning a trip together to Thailand in December.

He said that when they met in Türkiye last month, their relationship was “stronger than ever.”

Rachel added that her daughters also like Seskan, although Beth was skeptical at first due to their close age.

Rachel, who lives with her daughters and granddaughter, told her young boyfriend that she doesn’t want to have more children, a decision he agrees with, she said.

Rachel became pregnant for the first time when she was just 15 years old and said she had some reservations about being a young grandmother because she knows how difficult it is to be a full-time young mother.

Rachel, who says she is regularly asked for ID when buying a drink, said last year: “My daughter just turned 18 (after the birth) and I was really surprised when I found out she was pregnant.”

‘But once it sunk in, I started to get excited. She knew that obviously I was going to support her too.

‘People don’t even believe I’m my daughter’s mother. They look at me in complete shock when I tell them. They’re like, “Wait, aren’t you sisters?” When I say that I am also a grandmother, it surprises me even more.

“They always ask me for ID because I look so young. It’s annoying, but it’s also a compliment.”

While Rachel enjoyed adjusting to her new role as a grandmother after her granddaughter was born on July 25, 2023, she admitted it was stressful watching her little daughter give birth.

The mother-of-two added: “It was quite traumatic to see her daughter go through something like that at 17.

“The birth was a bit horrible, but luckily my granddaughter is a very good baby. She doesn’t really cry. She only makes noises when she’s hungry, eats and sleeps.

Rachel said the biggest advantage of being a young grandmother is that she is young and fit enough to do a lot of things with her granddaughter.

The OnlyFans model said after a tummy tuck in Türkiye last year: “I’m looking forward to going to the gym to make my body look better than ever.”

‘The biggest advantage of being such a young grandmother is that I have a lot more energy.

‘When my granddaughter is a little older, I will be able to take her places and I won’t be tired like older grandmothers. I don’t think there are any disadvantages to being a grandmother at 34 years old.

“I haven’t been tried for it yet, but it will probably happen.” It doesn’t bother me though. People criticize anything these days. Life is about being happy, and as long as you’re happy, you’ll go far.’

Rachel, who became a mother at 16, said that despite looking more like her granddaughter’s mother than her grandmother, she would never want to be called anything else.

She revealed: ‘I want you to call me grandma. I would never want to be called just Rachel. She’s my angel.’
