Sydney dietician Susie Burrell (pictured) reveals the foods she avoids at the supermarket

A nutritionist named all the foods she avoids at the grocery store and explained why you should stop eating them, too.

Susie Burell is one of Australia’s leading dietitians and wants to make healthy food choices accessible to everyone.

The first step is to reevaluate your shopping lists, starting with items that do more harm than good when not consumed in moderation.

Susie previously detailed the four simple “food rules” she follows to stay fit and lose weight.

The dietitian also revealed the two worst diets you can follow for your health and why they are wreaking havoc on your metabolism.

Dietitian Susie Burrell reveals the supermarket foods she never buys:

Processed chicken pieces

Two minute noodles

Chocolate and nut spreads

Fizzy and cordial soft drinks.

Processed meat snacks

Bakery cakes and muffins

In a video, Susie shared that she never buys commercially produced pastry-based foods.

“It’s one of the few foods in the supermarket that probably still contains trans fats, especially when margarine is on the ingredients list,” he told FEMAIL.

“Not only do these products contain very little meat, but they are also high in fat and have many dyes, additives and processed ingredients.”

Also avoid chicken products with less than 50 percent chicken, such as nuggets and other foods that must be prepared by frying or baking.

Processed meat snacks for kids are also on the don’t buy list.

“The rise of processed meat snacks for children is completely misaligned with the association between high consumption of processed meat and the risk of developing bowel cancer,” the dietician said.

“I don’t buy two-minute noodles full of salt and MSG,” he added.

Susie stated that the noodles themselves were fine, but she disagrees with the seasoning packets.

Susie avoids high sugar soft drinks of any flavor and cordials.

“I don’t buy high-sugar soft drinks, any flavor or cordial,” he added.

She’s particularly mindful of regular drinks with artificial colors, but some diet brands are fine if you check the ingredients.

‘There is no place for undiluted soft drinks in a healthy diet. Closely linked to weight gain in children and adults, a single 375ml can contains a whopping 9 teaspoons of sugar, and all varieties are as bad as each other.

As for checking ingredients, Susie avoids nut butters with more oil and sugar than nuts.

If you have a blender or food processor at home, you can make your own spreads and control what’s in them.

Also do not buy cakes or muffins with more than 30 g of sugar.
