An Idaho teenager who was left hanging from a power line after being catapulted into the air following a car accident after seeing her then-boyfriend kiss another girl has found new love.
Kennedy Littledike, 19, crashed her car on May 22, 2021, when she became emotional behind the wheel while going through a breakup.
The teenager, who was 16 at the time, was returning from watching the sunset with two friends when she started crying and ran off the road.
Littledike had been heartbroken after seeing her ex-boyfriend kiss another girl and the couple split just days before.
She recalled: “My boyfriend and I at the time had broken up two days before, so I was still devastated.
“I’m pretty sure I had seen something that day and he was already making out with another girl, so I think that’s what caused everything.”
Kennedy Littledike, who was spotted with her new boyfriend Alec Bingham, was left heartbroken after seeing her ex-boyfriend kiss another girl when she crashed.
The 19-year-old girl was thrown several meters high and trapped in an electrical cable, where she remained hanging by her broken leg for more than an hour.
The Idaho teen ultimately lost her leg in the accident, but says landing on the power line saved her life, as the electricity cauterized a torn artery and stopped her from bleeding.
Littledike and his two friends, Nakia Molina and Jacob Rasmussen, suffered serious injuries in the accident in which all three were ejected from the car.
Molina was unconscious and Rasmussen was bleeding profusely when neighbors and family found him.
While both teens suffered broken vertebrae and bones, among other injuries, they later made a full recovery.
Littledike was ejected 30 feet into the air, but the way she landed on the power line ended up saving her life.
Despite her serious injuries that could have cost her her life, Littledike has found love again, having recently celebrated one year with her new boyfriend Alec Bingham.
“In the process of being thrown, my arm was torn off, it was hanging by the skin of my back, and then my femur snapped on the wire and was hanging in front of my face,” Littledike said.
‘Many people ask: “How did you not bleed to death?” Well, the main artery in my leg was pinched by the electrical cord, and then the main artery in my arm was cauterized when I was electrocuted.
She continued, “I remember I was drowning in my blood because it was running down my leg, it was running out of my arm and it was going into my nose, and I was just wiping it away because I was literally drowning.”
Littledike required 21 surgeries to treat a fractured femur, humerus and clavicle, as well as a brachial plexus injury.
“I don’t know what happened to me in the hospital, but I went seamlessly from such a bad state of mental health to such a positive one,” the 19-year-old said.

She also spoke about a painful encounter with the ex-boyfriend, who admitted that he was afraid of his amputation.
Littledike said: ‘What hurt me the most was that that boy who broke my heart earlier came home after I got home from hospital.
“I made a joke like, ‘Oh, right? [my nub] Does it scare you?’ and he said, ‘Yes, it actually does.’ It really affected me, and after he said that, I just struggled with it.”
Recalling the incident, he added: “(A lifeguard) just grabbed my leg and had to pull it off the cable, and you just see my body fall lifeless onto the stretcher,” he said.
‘They put the tourniquet on me and had to remove the bone from the wire. And they said I screamed. And then once I hit the stretcher, there was silence.
“I had a total of five amputations because they tried to save as much as possible because the more leg you have to walk with a prosthesis, the easier it is,” Littledike explained.
‘So they tried to take it on my knee, through my knee. My leg kept rotting because the bone was broken too high. Every two days they came in and took more leg.

And go through surgery, over and over again, to have more and more legs cut off. Finally they cut him to the bone.
The teenager recalled the moment her father told her he had lost his leg and said the room “felt heavy.”
“I thought, ‘Did any of my friends lose a limb?’ And he said, ‘No.’ And I said, ‘Well, I’m glad I’m the one who lost control since I was driving,'” Littledike recalled.
‘At that moment, you are 16 years old. All the dreams you had in your head are gone.’
‘In 20 minutes I was fine. I literally named it. I called my nub Gobi and gave him a full dance. “I don’t know what happened to me in the hospital, but I went smoothly from such a bad state of mental health to such a positive one.”
Since his accident, Littledike has built a social media presence by sharing his story and finding humor in the situation.
‘Before my accident, I was struggling with my mental health. I wanted to commit suicide. I never really planned my future because I didn’t think there was going to be one. “I wasn’t happy,” she said.
‘I look back and say, “Wow, you’re pathetic.” But why now, look at me. “I am in a completely different and more difficult situation, but I am much happier.”
