A model who thought she just had heartburn was stunned to find out she was five months pregnant.
Alexandra Moore, from Adelaide, had a “cryptic pregnancy”, which occurs when normal testing methods fail to detect that a woman is pregnant.
Ms Moore spoke about the moment she learned the earth-shattering news.

In 2020, Ms. Moore gave birth to a healthy baby girl
She revealed that she suffers from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a hormonal disorder that causes enlarged ovaries with small cysts on the outer edges.
Ms Moore explained that she thought her condition would make it harder to get pregnant, assuming she would probably only be able to conceive through IVF treatment.
A few months into her cryptic pregnancy, Moore’s mother convinced her to get a blood test because she had been feeling very dizzy and had heartburn.
She recalled how a doctor told her that there was nothing to worry about as it was probably because she was pregnant, leaving her completely stunned.
Ms Moore, who has polycystic ovary syndrome, explained that she thought she would have to undergo IVF to get pregnant.
She said she was scared when she found out she was having a baby, but she wouldn’t change it for the world.
“I was under the impression that it was going to be very difficult for me to get pregnant,” she said.
“I literally had no idea I was pregnant, I felt a little bit of heartburn, but that was it.”

“I was so lucky… I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
In May 2020, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
