Hyatt Regency Perth to close after 36 years

The Hyatt Regency Perth is to close its doors after 36 years, having hosted high-profile stars such as Justin Bieber and Britney Spears.

The hotel, located on Adelaide Terrace in the city’s CBD, will officially close on August 31 after its owner, Singapore-based Tuan Sing Holdings Limited, announced it was terminating its contract.

The hotel and Tuan Sing said they will contact customers with future bookings and will also work to relocate staff.

Tuan Sing said the decision was made “as part of its long-term business strategy” and that after the hotel ceases operations, the property will be repositioned and rebranded.

“We are deeply saddened that Hyatt Regency Perth will cease operations, but we are grateful to have had the privilege of serving and caring for all who have passed through its doors,” said Hyatt Regency Perth General Manager Thiva Kesavan.

“As we navigate this difficult period, our thoughts are with all those affected by the hotel closure and we are committed to ensuring they receive support.”
