Spain suffered a blow at half-time in the Euro 2024 final when a distraught Rodri was substituted due to injury.
The Spanish midfield maestro was seen with his head in his hands as he left the pitch at half-time, before taking his place on the bench for the second half.
It looked to be a huge blow for the Spaniards given that they would have to play the next half of football without their talismanic midfielder with Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi coming in as his place.
However, it took just 70 seconds for Spain to break the deadlock in devastating fashion, with Nico Williams firing low into the net to stun a slumbering England.
Moments before Spain scored the first goal, Rodri’s substitution surprised the ITV panel.

While Lee Dixon said: “If you want to see the back of someone, it’s his. That record goes with him now.”
