A motorcyclist who stabbed a driver five times during a brutal road rage attack could be released from prison within months.
Rebels gang member Aleksander Mahone, then 31, used a homemade knife to repeatedly stab Issa Katoub, 26, after crashing his pickup truck into her car in July 2023, 7News reported.
Kattoub suffered wounds to his arms and chest before Mahone threw his sword as bystanders tried to intervene.
Kattoub had crashed his car into a power pole earlier in the day, forcing him to park in a no-parking zone on Bartley Street in Cabramatta, southwest of Sydney.
When he later returned to tow the car, Mahone crashed his truck into it.
Mahone then blamed Kattoub and went to the car to get his knife.
District Court Judge Huw Baker said the attacker’s blade was a pair of scissors “designed to be used as a weapon”.
Mahone was jailed for three years, but could be free as early as February next year if he serves time.
