Rucking is a practice in which a person walks or runs with a weighted backpack or vest; Fieri said he does this in the hills around her house several times a week.

Fieri said that around 2018, he noticed he was getting out of breath on hunting trips with his son, and two years later, he started working with Butler.

Her fitness routine with Butler included exercises like burpees, squats and presses, as well as routines involving medicine ball throws and ropes.

As she lost weight and felt her energy increase, she began “talking about intermittent fasting” with Butler.

“Once I started taking that more seriously, the amount of food I was eating and the exercise, it really changed everything,” she told the outlet.

In the interview, Fieri was observed preparing a healthy salad and noted that “you don’t need as much dressing” if the ingredients provide the right flavors.

He paired the product with lean turkey bolognese and grated spaghetti squash, according to the outlet.

‘How can something that’s so good for you taste so good?’ Fieri said. “The little bit of cinnamon in that bolognese takes this to the next level.”

Fieri’s improved health comes as he remains constantly busy in his career with shows like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and Guy’s Grocery Games, while keeping an eye on the menus at the 85 restaurants he owns.

The Food Network personality noted a lesson she’s learned as she’s lost weight: “I think moderation is a real thing.”

Fieri said that over the years he has had to avoid the misconception that he has always been prone to unhealthy eating, having been raised on a macrobiotic diet that included steamed fish and seaweed.

“Unfortunately, in the world (Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives), people like to say, ‘Oh, you’re the chef who eats the fried pizza burgers with ice cream toppings and all those huge, fried ones,'” he said.

He added: “My response is, ‘I don’t want to say you don’t know what you’re talking about, but you don’t know what you’re talking about.'”
