Spending quality time with the kids is the best part of a family holiday for more than half of British parents.
This is what emerges from a survey in which parents were questioned about the elements that make up a perfect family vacation, and a classification was obtained with 24 entries.
Of the 2,000 parents surveyed in the survey, commissioned by TUI Celebrating 20 years of Holiday Villages, 55 percent prioritized quality time.
Being at the beach (43 percent) and going to water parks (43 percent) came in second, while eating a breakfast buffet (41 percent) and finding kid-friendly food options (41 percent) came in third. .
Parents were split on their fourth favorite element of a family vacation: making sandcastles, finding good ice cream, having a wide variety of restaurants and access to adventure parks all received 37 percent of the votes.
In a survey carried out by TUI, 55 per cent of British parents said that their favorite thing about a family holiday is spending quality time with their children.
The research found that 34 per cent of Brits ranked an all-inclusive resort (fifth) as their favorite family holiday ingredient, while 33 per cent ranked having a pool with a shallow end first (sixth) and 27 percent said jumping into the sea as their best option.
Meanwhile, making friends on vacation (25 percent, joint eighth) and buying giant pool inflatables (25 percent, joint eighth) topped other parents’ lists.
Having different sized rooms to suit the family’s needs (21 per cent, ninth place) and going to clubbing on holiday (21 per cent, ninth place) were equally important to British parents, as were sunset cocktails , swimming races and the older children staying up late. , which ranked tenth with 19 percent of the votes.
An all-day kids’ club (18 percent, 11th), ice-cold beers at lunchtime (18 percent, 11th) and plenty of shade (17 percent, 12th) were also key holiday ingredients for some.
Uploading family photos to Instagram (13th) was a priority for 16 percent of parents, while 15 percent agreed that there’s nothing better than a daily nap (14th).
In the research, 46 percent of parents said they took their children on more family vacations than they did when they were young.
According to the survey, 44 per cent of British parents struggle to find the perfect family holiday within their budget.
More than half (55 percent) said the idea of a good family vacation has been completely transformed in the last 20 years, and two-thirds (67 percent) admitted they still have fond memories of their childhood vacations. .
The survey found that Brits spend an average of 27 days researching, organizing and booking a family holiday.
Although 42 percent of parents agreed that it is easier to find and book a family trip now than when they were children, 44 percent confessed that they struggle to find the right vacation within their budget.
According to British parents, the top international holiday destinations this year are Turkey (35 percent), Cyprus (31 percent), Mallorca (28 percent), the south of France (24 percent) and the Costa del Sol ( 23 percent). penny).
