A Maine father who has been searching for his daughter since 1986 was left heartbroken after a psychic helped him unearth human remains, but the body parts belonged to someone else.
Richard ‘Dick’ Moreau discovered the remains Saturday in Jay, about 70 miles from Portland, behind a bowling alley.
“(The psychic) had a very strong feeling that there was something up there,” he said. WMUR. But she wasn’t sure what it was. Then, in about 10 minutes, he turned around, came down and said, “Dick, you have to come up here now!”‘
He hoped to find the body of his 17-year-old daughter Kim Moreau, missing since May 1986, after leaving her home on Jewell Street. He was only supposed to be gone for an hour, but he never returned.
The bones found over the weekend were just a block up the hill from the family’s home, according to WMUR.

Maine State Police unearthed the bones and took them to the chief medical examiner’s office for identification, where they discovered the skeleton belonged to a man.
“It’s a disappointment in some ways,” the father said. ‘But we have to remember it and see it from our point of view. We are one of the families that has a missing loved one. We will have a family that is going to get closure now.
“So it’s not us, but one of these times it has to be.”
Around the same time Kim disappeared, Harold Simpson, a 28-year-old from Livermore Falls, also disappeared. The bones found on Saturday have not yet been identified.
Moreau isn’t done with the area as he plans to ask police to return with search dogs to see if there is another set of remains there.
The bones found over the weekend were just a block from the family’s home.

She still hopes to one day bring her daughter home and give her a “proper burial.”
“All we want is to bring Kim home,” he told the outlet. “Let me take down all these signs so my family and I can finally have some relief.”
There are currently 35 people missing in Maine, including Kim and Simpson, according to state police records.
