Married At First Sight’s Lucinda Light addressed rumors that her accent is fake and spoke candidly about her sexual connection with husband Timothy Smith.
In an exclusive chat with Daily Mail Australia, the free-spirited bride, 43, admitted trolls accused her of being a “fraud” and faking her accent on the show.
In response to criticism, she responded: ‘It’s just me. “My mantra throughout all of this was to be absolutely, authentically me.”
‘(Critics say) she is an actress. She is a fraud. She is fake. She’s not authentic and all that kind of stuff. You know, her fake voice.
“I am who I am because of my wildlife experience, from theater to traveling the world, to having entrepreneurial businesses, having an amazing supportive family, and all the things I have done have culminated for me in being who I am .’
Married At First Sight’s Lucinda Light (pictured) addressed rumors that her accent is fake and spoke candidly about her sexual connection with husband Timothy Smith.
‘Yes, I probably look like an important character, but I’m just me, you know, that’s all I can be. But I certainly enjoy them all for their individual expression.’
Lucinda then addressed issues surrounding her “slow” sexual connection with boyfriend Timothy.
When asked if the couple, who had experienced friction in the air over their lack of sex, would see their relationship progress during Intimacy Week, Lucinda remained coy.
“I think we have another, if not months, of orcs and idiots ahead of us, I have to be honest.”
“There’s a lot of laughter, but yeah… in Tim’s words, it’s a slow process.”
Light also admitted that her apparently increased sexual appetite made her “look like a stage 10 freak” on air.
She then reflected on her difficulties connecting early on due to Tim not liking physical contact and admitted that the show’s editing had exacerbated the problem.
“I think all the people are tied together in a condensed way, it’s like too much. Especially for a guy who I don’t think was naturally attracted to me, he needed time and he’s not in touch.
‘Overall, you know, in hindsight, now that I know Tim, I wish I’d given him a lot more space. But what you don’t know, you don’t know, you know?
She sweetly described their journey as a “beautiful love story” and hinted that Tim will “definitely” let his guard down in the upcoming scenes.
The free-spirited bride, 43, famously had a chat with Timothy, 51, about anal sex in scenes aired on the show which left her new husband “uncomfortable”.
The reality TV star, whose legal name is Lucinda Reilly, also spoke about the decision to use her stage name Lucinda Light on the show, saying it is the name she has been using for 10 years.
“I don’t even see it as a stage name, that’s the name that resonates in my soul,” he said.
‘I’m an artist, I’m an artist, I put on stage shows. I am a celebrant. I’m MC and Lucinda actually means light, so it’s just light, light.
“It’s like a joke and a bit of a fun name that I love to play with and I think it represents the fact that I love to enlighten people and awaken the memory of their inner beauty.
‘As if I loved reflecting the beauty of our people. You know that’s one of the things I love to do. Lucinda Light is just a game of all things.
‘That’s what I am and I do and I’m happy to stand behind that, you know? I will continue with that name for a long time and I really don’t see any crime in having a pseudonym.
Lucinda took to the chat and revealed whether she and her husband Tim ever participated in the intimate act, insisting that she’s not actually interested in it but was just being “silly.”
“Being a human being and sovereign on this planet, we can do whatever we want and what we feel is true.”
Speaking more about her journey with Tim on the show, Lucinda also teased that her husband brought some dramatic moments to dinner parties.
She said: “The thing about Tim, he’s outgoing, he’s very funny with people, he’s a big jerk about almost nothing, he doesn’t get carried away, he calls it what it is, and I think a lot of the dinners, in his own way, was his time to shine, really.
“I’m a much less confrontational person, I mean, I certainly had my moments, but yeah, Tim really rules.”
Lucinda (pictured with Tim) also opened up about the backlash she has experienced since the show aired, admitting she has been accused of being a “fraud” and faking her accent.
Lucinda went on to name some of her fellow contestants who she thinks have “a lot of growing to do,” including couple Jack and Tori (both pictured).
When asked who she is still in touch with on the show, Lucinda said she remains close to Andrea, but criticized other contestants, who she said have “a lot of growing up to do.”
‘There is a small group that really has a lot to do to grow. “I mean, I’m just going to name Jack, Tori, Collins, Ben,” she shared.
“I think there’s a lot of humility, a lot of insight and a lot of personal growth that needs to happen with those guys. And I’m very happy to say it out loud.
“But I really, you know, really, really enjoyed most of the cast. And I mean that.
