Heed the wise words of etiquette oracle William Hanson, who offers practical advice for emptying attendees’ belongings without causing (too much) offense in a now-viral TikTok video, which has racked up 1.6 million views.
She also shared some additional tips on the topic with MailOnline Travel.
In the video, William suggests starting the campaign by asking, “So, can I get someone something else?”

William told MailOnline Travel: “It’s rude and reckless. You never know what guests might do when you’re not paying attention.”

And is it okay to tell a little white lie and say you have to go to sleep because you have to work the next day, or make up a hospital appointment or a funeral?
William said: “It’s okay to tell a little lie on social media, but be careful not to get stuck the next day with a social media post. If you’ve said you’re at a funeral all day and then post a cute picture of yourself sipping a martini on a terrace, you’ll only have yourself to blame.”
