A CNN anchor says her husband of 22 years has died of pancreatic cancer.
Alisyn Camerota, 58, said she had “very sad and personal news” to share on Friday as she announced that her husband Tim Lewis had lost a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
The journalist’s husband died on July 27, just a few months before what would have been their twenty-third wedding anniversary.
Camerota shared on Instagram: ‘Some very sad personal news to share: my loving and extraordinary husband Tim passed away on July 27th, two years after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.’
Her post went on to detail her late husband’s brave battle following his diagnosis two years ago.

The couple, both 58, share three children together, twins Alessandra and Francesca, 19, and Nathaniel, 17.
“I can’t imagine any human being facing a devastating diagnosis with more humor, humility and courage than Tim,” the post reads.

“The kids and I are still finding our way,” she shared, adding, “Tim instilled a lot of strength and stability in us and we’re determined to try and emulate those qualities.”
Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Lewis often returned to his roots to watch “his beloved Chiefs with his high school friends, reveling in childhood stories of playing D&D, Risk, and all-you-can-eat taco nights.” Lewis’s Obituary read.
Lewis graduated from Yale University, where he was a proud member of the a cappella singing group the Spizzwinks, and eventually attended Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
He then had a “long and successful career in private equity and business consulting” at various firms including The Keystone Group, CRG Partners and Atlantic Street Capital before joining Southfield Capital, where he was a partner for nearly ten years.
But nothing surpassed his devotion to his family. Alisyn and his three children were his main priorities.
Lewis graduated from Yale University and would eventually attend Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
The CNN anchor and commentator took to Instagram on Friday to share the heartbreaking announcement of her husband’s untimely death.
“He was a phenomenal father, husband, friend and role model and the rest of us are trying to follow in his footsteps,” Camerota’s post continued.
She also highlighted her husband’s devotion to the community and the people around him. Having begun helping out at the high school, Lewis donated to many educational and scholarship funds throughout his life “so that other children could have the advantages that he and his children had.”
In honor of her husband, the CNN anchor established and is accepting donations for ‘The Tim Lewis Foundation’ with the goal of helping other individuals and families struggling with the “particularly challenging” diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
Camerota closed her post with: ‘I feel incredibly lucky to have had such a deep, committed and loving relationship for as long as we did.
“I plan to write more in the coming days and get back to work in the coming weeks. Thank you all for your love, your letters, your lasagna trays and your many, many gestures of kindness. I appreciate it.”
Camerota joined CNN in 2014 after a long stint at Fox News.
