Passengers had to cut short a once-in-a-lifetime journey after a cattle truck collided with The Ghan train in the Australian outback.
The truck collided with the second carriage of the luxury passenger train at around 10am local time on Sunday at the Arltunga level crossing, about 60 kilometres north of Alice Springs.
A spokeswoman for Journey Beyond, the company that runs The Ghan, said no serious injuries had been identified among passengers, train drivers or crew.
“Bus transport has been arranged to collect the guests and transport them to Alice Springs,” he said.
Emergency services are currently on the scene.
The truck driver was treated for shock at the scene and was taken to hospital.
The Ghan, which can carry up to 300 people, travels between Darwin and Adelaide for three days and has been in operation for more than 90 years.
Tickets range from $2,755 per person, to over $5,000 for a one-way platinum ticket, including all meals.

Sunday’s accident is expected to cause chaos on the railway line as the train will be unable to move.
“Disruptions to the rail network are expected to continue for several days as the train will be unable to move,” police told ABC News.
‘NT WorkSafe has been notified of the incident and the rail network controller has also been informed.
‘The investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident is ongoing.’
