A man has died in a plane crash on a farm in remote New South Wales.

Emergency services were rushed to the property near Bourke at around 7.50am after it was reported that a plane had crashed.

Police said officers from the North Central District found that a crop dusting plane had crashed into a field.

“The pilot and sole occupant of the plane, a 47-year-old man, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene,” police said on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency services were rushed to the property near Bourke at around 7.50am after it was reported that a plane had crashed.

“A crime scene has been established and is being forensically examined.”

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau has been notified and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
