A staggering number of American voters believe Vice President Kamala Harris was at least partially involved in covering up the extent of President Joe Biden’s mental decline.
Biden, 81, ended his re-election bid last weekend amid a flurry of calls for him to step aside after a disastrous debate performance and subsequent weeks of gaffes and missteps from which he was unable to recover.
Harris immediately stepped in as his replacement and took over Biden’s campaign. Two days later, the vice president secured enough delegates to become the Democratic nominee in the 2024 election.
But a whopping 92 percent of registered voters in a new… YouGov/Times of London survey They say Harris was behind efforts to conceal Biden’s poor cognitive fitness and physical well-being, while her staff maintained to the press and public that the president was fit for a second term.
More than half of American voters believe Vice President Kamala Harris is at least partly to blame for covering up President Joe Biden’s deteriorating mental and physical health.
The poll of 1,170 voters conducted July 22-23 asked whether they believed there was an effort to shield Biden’s mental health from the public and who was responsible for the cover-up.
54 percent of respondents said there was a cover-up and 30 percent said they did not believe it. 16 percent were not sure.
The shift in the 2024 election has left many with questions about whether there was a plot to keep Biden’s cognitive health secret and who conspired to keep his declining health a secret.
And 30 percent of respondents believe Biden should step down before his term ends and let Harris take over now.
Of those who believe there was a cover-up, a resounding 68 percent think Biden’s No. 2 had “a lot” to do with hiding his true qualifications. Seven percent said Harris was “a little” at fault, while 17 percent believe she was “somewhat” responsible.
And only a paltry four percent of respondents do not believe Harris was involved at all.
Harris became the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee for 2024 last week after taking over Biden’s campaign.
However, Americans believe that Biden’s family is primarily responsible for keeping his deteriorating mental and physical health a secret from the public.
A combined 96 percent of registered voters who believe there was a cover-up placed responsibility on the president’s family, including first lady Jill Biden.
Eighty-eight percent blame the media and a combined 92 percent say it was Democrats in Congress who were also involved in keeping Biden’s fitness a secret.
