Bill Clinton mocked Donald Trump and JD Vance during a pro-Kamala Harris rally in Arizona on Wednesday, but he did so trying to give an embarrassing Trump impression.
In his appearance in Phoenix, the former president ridiculed the “sexist talk” of the Republican candidacy, but then accused Trump of avoiding participating in a second presidential debate before the election.
Clinton seized the moment: “Those guys didn’t want to go anywhere near another debate, did they?” he told the crowd, but then his impression backfired when he tried to mock Trump.
Bill Clinton mocked Donald Trump and JD Vance during a pro-Kamala Harris rally in Arizona on Wednesday, but he did so while trying to give an embarrassing impression of the couple.
Trump said he believed he had “won” the first debate and therefore saw no need for a second round. He also said he believed it was “too late” for another. Trump appears at a rally in Duluth, Georgia, on Wednesday.
With a deep voice, Clinton, 78, attempted a poor imitation.
‘I’m tough, I’m tough!’ he said, while trying to portray the Republican presidential candidate.

“The voting has already started,” Trump said last month, accusing Harris of seeking another round of confrontations “because she’s losing so much.”
Clinton spoke for about 25 minutes at Wednesday’s rally, leaving plenty of time to focus on Trump’s running mate, JD Vance.
“Poor JD Vance, I saw him the other day and I felt really bad for him,” Clinton said.
‘I had managed to maintain enough dignity to get through the convention and the campaign without having to openly say that I thought Trump won the election in 2020. I knew that was not the case. But they made him say it last week,” Clinton said.

“You know this race is tight as a tick,” Clinton said. ‘You know you can win. It depends on how much you want it. “I tell you, she’s worth the effort,” Clinton urged black voters Wednesday.
Clinton then went on to sell voters on why they should vote for Harris.
Harris is “extremely vulnerable, more vulnerable than she deserves to be” because of Republican attacks on her character, but she can win if her supporters work hard enough to counter them, Clinton said.
“Republicans are geniuses at creating doubt and division,” Clinton told an audience of black Democrats.
‘”This woman is an alien.” Trump has called her every name in the book.
Black voters make up a smaller share of Arizona’s electorate than in most other battleground states, but they can still help influence elections in a state where recent major elections have been decided by a fraction of a percentage point.
“You know this race is tight as a tick,” Clinton said. ‘You know you can win. It depends on how much you want it. I’m telling you, she’s worth the effort and you’ll be proud of this for the rest of your life if you do it,’ he implored.
